Ingredients
  1. 250 grams plain flour
  2. 350 grams demerara sugar
  3. 65 grams plain cocoa powder
  4. 1 tsp baking powder
  5. 1 tsp salt
  6. 250 ml water
  7. 150 ml vegetable oil
  8. 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas mark 4.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Pour in water, vegetable oil and vanilla; mix until well blended.
  3. Spread evenly in a 23 x 33cm (9 x 13 in) baking tin.
  4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until the top is no longer shiny.
  5. Let cool for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
Notes
  1. To make the brownies more solid simply cook them for longer.
  2. Add your own additions like dairy free chocolate chips, chopped dates, nuts and seeds.
